Aikido - The Strategy of Movement

Gain poise, confidence and self-respect

Learn practical self-defense

Develop inner strength, posture and balance

Practice a true art form

Tomiki-ryu Aikido is well-tested and very practical for self-defense, especially when your attacker is armed or bigger or stronger than you, or in a group. Grappling, striking and randori are included. We are also a study group for Daito-ryu Aiki-jujutsu, the parent art of Aikido and the source of its techniques and methods of internal power.

Shindo Muso Ryu Jodo is a classical Japanese martial art of using a stick and other weapons to control and defeat an attacking swordsman. Originating in Kyushu Japan almost 400 years ago, these skills were used by military police, and are still used by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police today. Training in Jodo develops powerful body structure, understanding of distance and combative timing, and indomitable spirit.

Instructor Jack Bieler has been studying martial arts for over 35 years. He has 7th degree black belt in Aikido and 6th degree black belt in Jodo with a traditional teaching license. The Dojo also offers Uechi-ryu Karate and Eishin-ryu Iaido (sword).
